If you know these phrases your English is AMAZING!
Hey everyone!
I’m going to be completely honest: if you’re already using these 10 phrases naturally in conversation, your English is absolutely amazing. We’re talking C1 level and beyond.
Most learners get stuck using the same "safe" vocabulary, but if you want to break through that plateau and sound like a true native speaker, you need these tools in your kit.
To give you a little taste of what I’m talking about, here are three from the list:
-
Smitten: When you’re absolutely head-over-heels or infatuated with someone (or even a new puppy!). "He’s completely smitten with his new niece."
-
A one-off: Something that happens only once and isn't part of a sequence. "Don't worry, that mistake was just a one-off."
-
Ta: A classic, very British, and super colloquial way to say "thanks." "Ta for the tea, mate!"
I’ve broken down all 10 of these advanced phrases in my latest video. If you want to see the rest and learn exactly how to use them, you’ve got to check it out:
