Hi everyone,

I’m going on a well-deserved mini break for a week, so this week I’m not teaching any classes in order to recharge my batteries πŸ”‹β˜€οΈ

In the spirit of holidays, here are some idioms and phrasal verbs related to time off and holidays, with short explanations and example sentences:

🏝 Idioms & Phrasal Verbs for Holidays

1. Recharge your batteries
(to rest and relax so you have more energy)
πŸ’¬ After months of hard work, I’m taking a trip to recharge my batteries.

2. Take a breather
(to pause and rest for a short time)
πŸ’¬ Let’s take a breather before we continue our hike.

3. Get away from it all
(to go somewhere peaceful to escape daily stress)
πŸ’¬ We went to a small village in the mountains to get away from it all.

4. Soak up the sun
(to relax in the sun) β˜€οΈ
πŸ’¬ I can’t wait to lie on the beach and soak up the sun.

5. Hit the road

6. Let your hair down

7. Live it up
